OVAC Hill Briefing
On February 23, 2011, OVAC, in cooperation with the House Cancer Caucus, hosted a briefing on Capitol Hill to mark the 40th Anniversary of the National Cancer Act and to highlight advances in cancer prevention and early detection.
Featured at this standing-room only briefing were, from left to right, Dr. Douglas Lowy, Deputy Director of the National Cancer Institute (NIH), Sharon Huff, a patient screened through the National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection and Treatment Program, and Dr. Lisa Richardson, the Associate Director for Science, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). |
